Socio-economic development trends bulletin

In the year under review, the Management Committee agreed that Nedlac should publish a quarterly bulletin of socio-economic development trends. Unfortunately, due to various delays, the bulletin did not appear in the first quarter of the year, but a lot of work has gone into laying the foundation for a good series.

Roundtables

This series aims to provide constituency representatives the opportunity to engage in informal discussion amongst themselves and with specialists, who do not ordinarily attend Nedlac meetings, on topics that are of relevance to the pursuit of economic growth and social equity. Black Economic Empowerment Report process

In line with the Nedlac 2000 declaration, in which economic empowerment was identified as one of the national priorities, Nedlac set up a task team made of senior constituency members. It is tasked with co-ordinating engagement with the Black Economic Empowerment Commission (BEECOM) and constituencies' inputs on BEE. Nedlac hosted Cyril Ramaphosa of the BEECOM to give a briefing on the preliminary BEECOM report. Nedlac intends to invite the commission to make another presentation on its final report.
