EASTERN CAPE
22 September 2004
The Minister of Labour Membathisi Mdladlana has received the
shocking news of the arrest of the Provincial Executive Manager in
the Department's Eastern Cape Office - for alleged corruption
activities relating to accepting a bribe and contravening
government's tendering processes.
Minister Mdladlana emphasised that the Department views the
latest developments in a serious light adding that he welcomed any
measures by the law enforcement authorities to root out corruption
within government structures.
"The law must now be allowed to take its cause," he said.
