PRESENTATION TO NEDLAC ON THE RESTRUCTURING OF PUBLIC
ENTERPRISES BY THE MINISTER FOR PUBLIC ENTERPRISES

The Minister of Public Enterprises, Ms Stella Sigcau, today
presented government's guidelines for the restructuring of public
enterprises to delegates of Nedlac's constituencies.
The presentation by Ms Sigcau also gave delegates the
opportunity to comment on government's approach to the issue of
restructuring public enterprises, to have certain areas clarified,
and to present their views on the issue.
Nedlac's role in the process of restructuring public enterprises
was defined by its Management Committee at a meeting on August 1,
1995. Briefly, this process involves the following:
- A group of three delegates per constituency will meet to reach
agreement on government's guidelines and to reconcile the
constituencies' concerns. This group will report directly to the
Management Committee.
