MEETING OF LIQUID FUELS INDUSTRY TASK FORCE
7 July 1995
A meeting of Nedlac's Liquid Fuels Industry Task Force (LFITF)
took place today from 10h00 until 14h30. The South African
Petroleum Industries Association (Sapia) did not attend.
The parties considered the way forward with regards to:
1. Consultants Arthur Andersen's investigation into Sasol's
synfuel protection.
2. The labour constituency's proposals on the social
implications of restructuring the liquid-fuels industry.
3. The future of the LFITF with respect to its role in reaching
agreement on policy questions relating to the restructuring of the
industry.
The parties will now consider the proposals tabled, and Sapia
will be approached with these propsoals.
The next meeting of the LFITF was scheduled for 16 August 1995,
on which date the LFITF will evaluate progress made with regards to
the proposals.
