FINAL LEG OF DRAFT LABOUR RELATIONS BILL
NEGOTIATIONS
17 July 1995
Negotiations aimed at reaching consensus on the draft Labour
Relations Bill commenced on 4 May 1995 when government, business
and labour presented their responses to the bill at a special
extended session of Nedlac's Labour Market Chamber.
After 149 hours in formal meetings, the negotiations were
finally concluded this morning, with a meeting of the technical
committee appointed to consider the last outstanding issues. A
report was presented to the Nedlac Executive Council today for its
consideration. Any changes to the report will be explained during
today's media conference.
