THE WORKPLACE CHALLENGE

Nedlac continues to co-ordinate research for the Workplace Challenge programme. The Workplace Challenge is a NPI project that seeks to improve companies' productivity and job creation performance. David Dickinson, a researcher on the project has recently completed an assessment of the implementation of the programme in the plastics conversion sector. His report tells the story of five companies that have been involved in the Workplace Challenge project over a period of two years.

The report provides fascinating insights into the dynamics of workplace change. In so doing it provides useful pointers for workers and managers on how to initiate and sustain meaningful workplace change on a continual basis. This is a must read for anyone who is attempting to improve the performance of South African workplaces.
