Summit
Once a year, the Nedlac Executive Council convenes a meeting,
called the summit, of approximately 300 delegates to report on and
consider Nedlac's activities. The summit is aconsultative forum and
does not form part of Nedlac itself.
The function of the summit is to involve as many relevant groups
as possible in orderto give feedback on Nedlac's activities, and
for Nedlac to obtain inputs fromorganisations or persons not
normally involved in its activities.
The summit is chaired by South Africa's President or Executive
Deputy President. The Nedlac Executive Council determines who
should be invited to attend the summit.
Records of the summit's proceedings are kept by the Nedlac
secretariat, and these canbe obtained by members of the public.
No policy resolution adopted by the summit is binding on Nedlac,
unless such aresolution is expressly adopted by Nedlac as well.
